The centralized coordinated traffic signal controller is responsible for collecting and preliminarily analyzing real-time traffic data at the front end. This data is transmitted via a communication network to upper-level control systems for timing adjustments. It receives commands from the upper-level controller to manage the color changes of traffic lights at the intersection. During adaptive control, it autonomously adjusts the light changes based on traffic demands at the intersection.
